Southern Europe\u2019s Sales Area Manager talks about the impact of green hydrogen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thibault Murcia likes to reference science fiction author Jules Verne when talking about the power of green hydrogen. More than 100 years ago, Verne wrote in his book \u201cThe Mysterious Island<\/a>,\u201d that \u201cwater will one day be employed as fuel, that hydrogen and oxygen which constitute it, used singly or together, will furnish an inexhaustible source of heat and light, of an intensity of which coal is not capable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Murcia likes to tell people that Plug made that vision \u2014 green hydrogen \u2014 a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murcia, the Sales Area Manager of Southern Europe for Plug\u2019s electrolyzer business unit, said he jumped at the opportunity to join the company two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a new and exciting market, and it\u2019s allowing us to do something real for the climate,\u201d he said. “I am the father of two daughters and I wanted to be part of this energy transition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

As a regional sales manager, Murcia is tasked with supporting European customers in the electrolyzer business unit. An engineer by trade, Murcia also has the unique background of being able to explain complex solutions in a simple way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, he\u2019s had many great days at Plug, including the technical support for contract closing of the first three electrolyzers that will be commissioned in Europe this year. Another great day was the inauguration of the world\u2019s first green hydrogen production site at sea<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
