{"id":3835,"date":"2018-03-12T11:18:27","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T16:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/plugpower.local\/?p=3835"},"modified":"2018-03-12T11:18:27","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T16:18:27","slug":"working-toward-a-zero-emission-future-plug-power-model-company-for-getting-it-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/working-toward-a-zero-emission-future-plug-power-model-company-for-getting-it-done\/","title":{"rendered":"Working Toward a Zero-Emission Future: Plug Power Model-Company for Getting it Done"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier in the month, Plug Power hosted a group from Capital District Clean Communities (CDCC) at our Latham, NY headquarters.\u00a0 The CDCC is a U.S. Department of Energy-funded Clean Cities program focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.\u00a0 Stakeholders encompass a range of backgrounds and organizations, including state agencies, local government, private fleets, fuel suppliers &amp; companies, and sustainability advocates.<\/p>\n<p>The group visiting Plug Power included representatives from a variety of area organizations who had interest in learning more about Plug Power\u2019s electric vehicles and zero-emission vehicle technologies, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/products\/gendrive\/\">GenDrive<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/products\/progen\/\">ProGen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3836\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3836\" style=\"width: 298px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a class=\"entry-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Group2.jpg\"<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3836\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Group2-298x300.jpg\" alt=\"CDCC at Plug Power\" width=\"298\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3836\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Plug Power talks with the CDCC about <br \/>fuel cell manufacturing and markets<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The CDCC is interested in seeing fuel cell technology adopted in the Capital Region among local government and private fleets.\u00a0 The visit to Plug Power advanced the group\u2019s understanding of fuel cell technology and market strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Here is just some of the success achieved by Capital Region Plug Power in enabling fuel cell adoption in the USA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineered and manufactured GenDrive fuel cell platform, an economically viable product for use in electric material handling vehicles \u2013 with more than 20,000 unit install base, and growing.<\/li>\n<li>Grew the fuel cell supply chain, globally, and offers products with industry-leading reliability<\/li>\n<li>Invested in developing robust and scalable GenFuel hydrogen storage and dispensing systems. Today, almost 11 million hydrogen fuelings have been performed by end-users<\/li>\n<li>Installed the Capital Region\u2019s first outdoor fueling dispenser \u2013 used today to fuel the first ProGen-powered delivery van on the East Coast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3837\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3837\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a class=\"entry-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Group4.jpg\"<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3837\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plugpower.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Group4-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"CDCC looks inside ProGen delivery van\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3837\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The CDCC got a first-hand look under <br \/>the hood of a ProGen-powered delivery van<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It takes years of work by all dedicated organizations to advance emerging zero-emission vehicle technologies.\u00a0 Here is just some of the success achieved by the CDCC in the Capital Region:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CDCC displaces over 1 million gallons of petroleum annually through alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technologies, idle reduction strategies, and transportation demand management programs<\/li>\n<li>CDCC has introduced local fleets to new and emerging vehicle technologies and transportation programs that reduce petroleum-based fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions<\/li>\n<li>It has had a role in the expansion of the EV charging station network in the region, Capital CarShare (a nonprofit carsharing organization), CDPHP Cycle!
